Mall tipped as new community hub

RCG director Desmond Wai said the $160 million monster west Auckland mall would be beneficial for the local community.

"I actually think that new Northwest centre will be a new community hub. It will be essentially a [community] anchor and it should grow the overall environment.

Supermarket portfolio might be the first of many 'leaseback' sales

The sale of 19 New Zealand supermarkets by their wealthy British owners could be the start of many retail property investors putting their premises on the market. Five Wellington Countdowns are part of a $200m portfolio owned by Antipodean Supermarkets, an entity ultimately owned by British property giant William Pears Group and individual investor Jonny Berman.
