In New Zealand the benefits derived from tourism are never more prevalent than at this time of the year when cruise ships anchor in ports up and down the country.

Auckland hit a new peak last week with a record four cruise ships docked in one day, resulting in the injection of thousands of passengers in to Auckland; a huge boon for the local economy.

Public holidays for Waitangi Day and Auckland Anniversary can exacerbate this.
